AURALUX™ has been designed to stimulate the skin's own regenerative processes using advanced Cold Fibre Laser technology (CoolPulse™ delivery). In comparison to other lasers, it does not create the thermal damage and excessive trauma of other devices, decreasing the risk of burns, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and prolonged redness. It then works by encouraging healthier cellular function, collagen production and tissue regeneration.
The result is skin that looks healthier, calmer, brighter and more youthful, naturally.
With cold fibre laser, clients usually do not need numbing creams, and it is called a "lunchtime facial" for a reason -- there is minimal downtime, when with other lasers, healing and recovery would take weeks.
What Is Cold Fibre Laser Technology?

The goal is not to damage the skin, but to encourage it to function more efficiently, supporting healthier collagen production, improved cellular communication and enhanced tissue regeneration.

How AURALUX™ Differs from Traditional Laser Treatments
Many laser treatments work by intentionally creating controlled injury within the skin. This process stimulates healing but may also involve heat, inflammation and varying levels of recovery time depending on the technology used.
For clients with Fitzpatrick scale darker skins, there is a limitation to what laser treatments can do, with higher risks of discolouration or skin damage.

The evening was filled with excitement, connection, education, and a shared passion for the future of skin health. As guests gathered to experience the technology firsthand, there was an undeniable sense that we were witnessing the beginning of something extraordinary.

When Rene Herald first created Temple Skincare & Spa more than two decades ago, her vision was never simply to build another beauty destination. She wanted to create a space where people could genuinely exhale. That philosophy still shapes every part of the Temple experience today. It is seen in the way that the conversations that happen during treatments. It is in the calming energy throughout the space. It is in the thoughtful recommendations, personalised for every skin. It is in how clients are listened to, not rushed. It is in the small things called “Temple Signatures,” that make each person who walks through the spa doors (no matter if they are getting an $18 brow wax or an advanced medispa course) feel like they belong, they are looked after with kindness and cared for sincerely.
Here, skin health has always been approached as something deeply connected to emotional wellbeing, confidence, stress, and self-care, not simply appearance alone. And perhaps that is why so many clients say Temple feels like a salon different from anywhere else they have experienced before.
Growing Alongside the Community
One of the most meaningful parts of the spa’s journey has been growing alongside the local community itself. Over time, relationships naturally evolve.
Clients who once arrived feeling unsure about their skin become some of The Temple’s biggest supporters and friends. Young women who visited Temple with their mothers now return as adults themselves. Familiar faces continue walking through the doors year after year, not only because of the treatments, but because of the trust and connection built over time.
This sense of community is something the Temple Team deeply values and never takes for granted.
It is also why recent recognition at the Local Business Awards 2026 for Business of the Year and Outstanding Beauty Services, felt especially emotional for the Team. Not because of titles or trophies, but because it reflected the support of the people who have helped shape Temple’s story over so many years.

Leadership Through Care
At the Australian Small Business Champion Awards 2026, Rene Herald was recognised with the prestigious Champion Master Award, an honour celebrating leadership, contribution, and excellence across Australian small business.
But those closest to Rene know that leadership has never been about recognition for her. It has always been about people. More importantly, it’s about creating opportunities for others and in the process, helping young therapists grow in confidence. As an extension of this, Rene mentors emerging business owners through Business Beyond Beauty. But most of all, it is about creating spaces where women feel supported, educated, and empowered through initiatives such as Temple Retreats and the empowHER Menopause Symposium.
Her approach has always been grounded in generosity, integrity, and service… values that continue to shape the culture of The Temple today.
The Team Behind the Experience
One of the things clients often say about the salon is how deeply cared for they feel by the Team. And, that feeling does not happen by accident. It comes from Therapists and Team members who genuinely love what they do and who bring empathy, warmth, and intention into every client interaction.
Whether it’s remembering the small details of someone’s life, helping guide a long-term skin journey, or simply creating a calm moment in someone’s busy week, the Temple Team understands that care goes far beyond treatments alone.
Recently, Temple Therapist Brooke was recognised as Retail Therapist of the Year at the PBS Skin Summit Awards, while Laura McKenna has also previously received the same recognition twice in previous years.
But within Temple, these moments are viewed less as individual achievements and more as reflections of a shared philosophy: support people honestly, educate them with care, and always place integrity before pressure.
It is a standard that quietly shapes every experience within the clinic.

A Purpose That Reaches Beyond the Treatment Room
One of the things that has always quietly shaped Temple is the belief that success should create the ability to help others.
For Rene Herald, building the salon was never only about skin treatments, technology, or creating beautiful experiences. From the beginning, it was also about creating a space grounded in kindness, generosity, and community.
This philosophy lives through Temple Hearts, the charitable arm of Temple Skincare & Spa.
Through Temple Hearts, the Temple team has supported a range of organisations, charities, local schools, women’s shelters, and community initiatives over many years, all centred around the idea of helping people feel supported, cared for, and less alone during difficult times.
Among the causes supported are the McGrath Foundation, helping fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses for families experiencing breast cancer; The Sanctuary – The Hills Women’s Shelter, supporting women and children escaping domestic violence; Tuberous Sclerosis Australia through fundraising initiatives such as Lizzie’s Lunch; and Ward Angels, supporting families with children in hospital care. Temple has also previously partnered with Hawkesbury Helping Hands to help support vulnerable families and school children experiencing hardship.
Hi Rene, As a McGrath Breast Care Nurse, I have the privilege of providing support and care to people experiencing breast cancer each day. That’s why I’m writing to you today – because I want to say thank you for all that you’re doing to support me and my patients. One of the key elements of my role is supporting patients whose breast cancer has metastasised, meaning it has spread from the breast to other parts of the body. I support my patients and their loved ones through these feelings of grief and loss of control. I help them to accept cancer as a part of their life and to live as well as possible throughout treatment and beyond. This emotional support is a crucial part of cancer care – and it can be so much more challenging for patients who don’t have the guidance of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse. So thank you, Rene, for helping ensure more Australians can access this care.
Being a McGrath Breast Care Nurse is more than showing up each day. One day I might advocate for a patient to receive a new form of care, another, I may guide a parent through sharing their diagnosis with their children. If you’ve ever had a conversation with Brooke, you’ll know she has a way of making skin feel simple, not overwhelming.

Brooke’s Journey
Since joining Temple in 2023, Brooke has quickly become known for her professionalism, consistency, and natural ability to connect with clients.
In 2024, she stepped into a leadership support role, helping maintain team consistency and client care standards. Despite being one of the younger team members, she approached the responsibility with maturity and confidence. She plays a vital role in encouraging a culture of education, integrity, and client-first care across all treatments and recommendations. In fact, Brooke regularly invested time outside of her roster to guide and mentor fellow therapists, sharing her knowledge and helping strengthen the overall skill level of the Temple Team.
When not in-spa, Brooke loves spending time with family and friends and, at the moment getting everything for the arrival of her baby boy.
Today, Brooke continues to be recognised for her strong client relationships, calm presence, and commitment to ongoing learning and growth. Meet Laura, Spa Manager & Senior Dermal Therapist
As a two-time (in a row) Retail Therapist of the Year winner herself, and one of Temple’s most Senior Dermal Therapists and Spa Manager, Laura brings more than 15 years of industry experience, leadership, and deep client care into everything she does. Having worked in both Ireland and Australia since beginning her beauty career at just 18 years old, Laura has developed a strong passion not only for skin health, but also for helping people feel more confident in themselves.
What drives Laura most is seeing genuine transformation in her clients, not just physically in their skin, but emotionally in the confidence they gain throughout their journey. She especially loves the advanced results possible within the medi-spa space, where customised treatment plans and homecare can create long-term, meaningful change for clients.
Results are my life! I just love the excitement my client has when I unveil their results. My passion for my clients is to achieve their well-deserved goals and this is why I set my goals so high so that I can achieve higher outcomes than expected for them.

Sarah
One of The Temple’s OGs, Sarah started working at Temple in 2002 then after 10 years left to grow her family before returning again. Rene and Sarah originally worked together as apprentices many many moons ago.
Clients often describe being looked after by Sarah as one of the best spa experiences that they’ve had. She is always polite and has a lovely demeanor that makes everyone feel instantly at ease. The results from her facials leave the skin smooth, deeply hydrated and bright.
Despite her young looks, can you believe that she is already a loving nana to two little ones?! Family plays a big role in her life and is so admirable for how much she dotes on them.
Stella
Stella is known for her warm nature, gentle approach, and ability to make clients feel instantly comfortable the moment they walk into her treatment room. She combines relaxation with results-driven care, creating experiences that feel both nurturing and effective.
Clients love Stella for her attention to detail and the calming energy she brings to every appointment. Whether supporting someone through a long-term skin journey or simply helping them take time out for themselves, Stella approaches every treatment with genuine care and intention.
When not looking after her clients, Stella loves traveling, spending time with family, going on adventures and shopping.
Stella’s Favourite Treatments – Rejuvenation Facial and Revive Package
Stella loves treatments that help clients slow down, reset, and leave feeling both refreshed and radiant.
One of her favourites is the Revive Ritual, a deeply relaxing face and body experience designed for clients who feel run down, stressed, or time poor. She loves seeing how different clients feel by the end of this treatment. They come in stressed and exhausted, then leave glowing, relaxed, and lighter emotionally as well as physically.
Stella is also passionate when doing Temple’s Rejuvenation Facial + LED. This is especially for clients experiencing dehydration, dullness, early ageing, or tired-looking skin. “It gives clients that healthy, hydrated glow while still deeply treating the skin underneath. The results are beautiful, but it’s also such a relaxing experience.”
Melissa
Often praised for her magical, healing hands, Melissa is a client favourite for administering incredible massages that release knots and bring a deep sense of relaxation for Temple clients. They come away feeling fully rested and with a deep sense of calm and release from pain. She often recommends pairing the Lymphatic pants therapy to ease bloating and promote circulation, paired with any facial.
What many might not know is that she’s just as amazing with facial treatments, as she is with massages. In particular, she is passionate about getting results from Temple’s Glow Facial which leaves every client glowing and refreshed.
You’ll see her on the pickleball court or the dance floor doing the salsa when not on duty at the spa.
Valerie
Valerie is loved by clients for her grounded, calming presence and her ability to deliver treatments that feel just as relaxing as they are results-driven. She brings a gentle, considered approach to every appointment, ensuring clients feel both cared for and confident in their skin journey. Her favourite thing about her work is simple: helping clients unwind while still achieving visible skin results.

My favourite treatment is the Temple Signature Facial and Oxygeneo Facial. Honestly, I can’t choose but I love how they’re both relaxing and results driven.”
The Temple Signature Facial is one of her most loved treatments. It is the heart of the Temple experience, combining customised skin care with slow, intentional, deeply relaxing rituals. Clients often describe it as feeling like a full-body exhale where they leave not only glowing, but deeply restored and relaxed. Whilst the Geneo Oxygenating Facial is a treatment designed to deeply revitalise the skin from within.
Hannah
One of Temple Skincare’s newest faces, she’s fast being known for wonderful massages (especially the Hot Stone Massage), being attentive to clients and listening to what they need. She has a warm, calming approach and since she is still fairly new to Sydney, she loves exploring new places, especially coastal walks. She has two children so they have lots of family time, especially at soccer with her son. She also loves to read whenever I get the chance.”

I enjoy doing all facial treatments and relaxing packages that allow the clients to sit back and relax.Outside of work, I mainly watch Netflix, explore areas I haven’t been in the city and go out with my family.”
Spa Angels: Chanel & Sienna Melrose
The Temple is very lucky to also have two Spa Angels, who make sure that each client is welcomed with a warm smile and is made to feel special with the little things that make a big difference. This is done through Temple Signatures, or the little acts of hospitality, grace and beauty that make each spa visit extra divine. Without these Angels, Rene confesses that “we’d be lost without them.”
Most may notice that Chanel is a happy volunteer for social media demos on Temple facial treatments or make-up tutorials (she is simply a pro when it comes to beauty!). But, she is also such an indispensable colleague supporting the others to excel in their clinical specialisations.
Sienna on the other hand, is more shy but is always a bright light in the Team. She has an infectious smile and is always a nimble and responsive team member. Working behind the scenes, she also looks after some of the day-to-day operations at Temple (unglamorous as some of them may be), with brilliant attention to detail and heartwarming care.

Bernadette and Vivian, Spa Receptionists
The phone never stops ringing in the spa. There are hundreds of emails to respond to. Added to this, there’s always a long list of administrative tasks that need to be attended to. But no matter how demanding the job may be, Temple Receptionists are always there as kind-hearted sisters, who can answer your questions and all in all, help keep everything together!
Always warm, welcoming and with a big smile, Bernadette is one of the spa’s Receptionists, juggling the customer calls and queries. She is organised and dependable, but always poised and ready to assist clients. The Team loves seeing her family when they visit her after work, especially her wonderful daughters.
Often a “partner-in-crime” of Brooke or the others in making social media reels, her sense of humour stands out. Alongside her product and service expertise, she is a friendly go-to expert for clients needing a helping hand with deciding what treatment to book, or what skincare to add to their loot.
